Corder Accepts Lake Union Position

Jon Corder, North Pacific Union Conference (NPUC) Association treasurer, has accepted a new role at the Lake Union Conference based in Berrien Springs, Mich., beginning in May. There he will fulfill similar responsibilities to his current role at the NPUC, with a focus on trust services and revolving fund assets. Corder will bring to the Lake Union more than three decades of experience in financial leadership for the NPUC, the Oregon and Upper Columbia conferences and Pacific Union College. Corder’s wife, Cheri, currently directs community outreach, family ministries and women’s ministries for the Oregon Conference. The Corders will make their physical transition to Michigan in the next few months.

Nicola Transitions into New Conference Role

The Oregon Conference has decided to foster the growth of its education ministry by adding an additional superintendant position. Dan Nicola, Portland Adventist Academy (PAA) principal, will be transitioning to the conference education department as associate superintendent of education. He will be working with former PAA principal and current Oregon Conference vice president of education, Gale Crosby. In his new position, Nicola will represent secondary schools across the conference. Nicola plans to make the transition at the end of this school year. Eberhardt Accepts Call to Arizona Conference

Wendy Eberhardt, Upper Columbia Conference (UCC) youth director, has accepted a position with the Arizona Conference, based in Scottsdale, Arizona. Wendy’s commitment help youth know and experience Christ for a lifelong relationship has been a profound blessing for the campers and families of Upper Columbia. She will finalize her transition plans in the coming weeks. Paul Hoover, UCC president, says, “Please join me in thanking Wendy for her faithful service in Upper Columbia and praying for her and Ed as they conclude here and begin in Arizona.” Read more from Upper Columbia Conference's newsletter.

The Gleaner is a gathering place with news and inspiration for Seventh-day Adventist members and friends throughout the northwestern United States. It is an important communication channel for the North Pacific Union Conference — the regional church support headquarters for Adventist ministry throughout Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington. The original printed Gleaner was first published in 1906, and has since expanded to a full magazine with a monthly circulation of more than 40,000. Through its extended online and social media presence, the Gleaner also provides valuable content and connections for interested individuals around the world.
