Bellevue's Continuing VBS Legacy

By Carrol Grady, September 24, 2016

Vacation Bible School is a big thing at Bellevue Church. Over the past 20 years, as many as 120 children annually enjoy the summer time program, and about half the children come from the neighborhood around the church. Some of those who first came in the early days are now bringing their own children.

This year, 114 children attended Bellevue's Cave Quest program. Fortunately, Bellevue has many lively teenagers as well as older and even senior members who love to help, since nearly as many helpers are needed as children.

Enthusiasm was the watchword as kids learned about finding hope, courage, the right path, real love and God's power by "Following Jesus!" through the cave. Watch a video report at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRd5BxmEQ6k

It is an important communication channel for the North Pacific Union Conference — the regional church support headquarters for Adventist ministry throughout Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington. The original printed Gleaner was first published in 1906, and has since expanded to a full magazine with a monthly circulation of more than 40,000. Through its extended online and social media presence, the Gleaner also provides valuable content and connections for interested individuals around the world.
