John Day Welcomes New Members

By Judy Jarnes, Judy Jarnes, May 01, 2019

It’s a one stoplight town in eastern Oregon, known for its rodeos, ranching and great fishing along the river, but for a month the city of John Day welcomed Dalles Bartell for his Revelation seminar.

Bartell gave presentations at the John Day Church from mid-March to mid-April 2019. He is a retired, senior enlisted Navy officer, a presenter of Bible prophecy, student of the Bible and evangelist. The seminars dug deep into the prophecies and predictions but also gently touched upon experiencing the love of God in a painful world.

Several people, including current members, were touched. At the end of the seminars, Carlos and LuAnne Bortell were baptized and Frances Nichols was rebaptized.

John Day may be small on people with a population of 1,669, but it’s evident it is big on the search of truth and the love of God.
