Open House of Prayer in Roundup

By Norma Trent, December 17, 2019

The Roundup (Mont.) Church has a new outreach initiative, an "Open House of Prayer." This concept was the brainchild of a church member, Mike Giebelhouse. His God-given inspiration was to have the church open to the community for prayer.

After much prayer, plans were made and dates were chosen. Nov. 23 and 30, 2019, were set aside, and flyers were posted around town. The radio stations in town, including the church’s own, were notified, and the newspapers included advertisements.

Roy Dickerson, Roundup Church head elder, led the first gathering, which included several community members in attendance. Church members were on hand to help. Group prayer, as well as individual prayers were interspersed with Bible readings and hymns. We also had a table in the lobby with community resource brochures and GLOW (Giving Light to Our World) tracts. After the prayer session ended, refreshments were served in the dining area.

We as a church pray God will bless our efforts to reach our community through the majesty of prayer.
