Gladstone Today Hits the Road for Camp Meeting Week

By Savannah Pascoe, September 02, 2021

During a typical week at Gladstone Camp Meeting, "Gladstone Today" features daily new story videos from around the camp ground. This year, with pandemic restrictions not allowing large gatherings at the camp, the crew was inspired to hit the road.

“Gladstone Today's" On the Road broadcasted live from a new location each night with hosts Jonathan Russell and Laura Pascoe. The team travelled across the Oregon Conference to a variety of churches and camp meeting partner sites where programs featured local interviews and video segment stories.

Communities participating included churches near Gladstone, like the Adventist Community Church of Vancouver and Sunnyside Church in Portland, to those far away, such as White City Samoan Church, Lebanon/Sweet Home Adventist congregations and Tillamook Adventist School.

Each partner site hosted camp meeting viewing parties to encourage their local members to build fellowship by spending time together instead of staying home to watch evening programs. Many churches not only watched camp meeting together but also hosted kids programs, events and meals throughout the whole week.

The "Gladstone Today" crew enjoyed connecting in-person with church members at each of their locations and sharing the unique ministries of each community with camp meeting viewers. Although everyone couldn’t be together for camp meeting this year, the live broadcasts allowed viewers to feel a little more connected with congregations throughout the conference.
