Kamiah Church Examines Origins

The Kamiah Church in Idaho brought Stan Hudson, director of the Creation Study Center in Ridgefield, Washington, to the small north Idaho town for a two-night series called "Origins–The Evidence of Creation." Community members filled the conference room of the Clearwater 12 Motel in September 2021.

Hudson's discourse on the tension between science and religion examined the development of the evolutionary theory, the explanation of the flat layers of the Grand Canyon, the insights from Mt. St. Helens' eruption and studies of geologist J. Harlan Bretz's observations of Lake Missoula.

Nearly 70 people attended the presentations. Attendees had the opportunity to enter nightly drawings for wood carvings by local artist Mel Fowlkes and DVDs from Hudson. Following the seminar on Friday evening, Hudson answered questions and invited participants to examine a collection of fossils.

"You'll have to stop in and visit our museum," Hudson said. "It is a hands-on learning experience, dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge in our physical world and through scripture."
