NWAdventists.com Now Available in Multiple Languages

By NW Adventists Team, August 21, 2025

NWAdventists.com can now be viewed with live translation in 12 languages: English, Filipino, French, Indonesian, Korean, Myanmar (Burmese), Portuguese, Russian, Samoan, Spanish, Swahili and Ukrainian.

"We recognize the need for our news and inspirational content to be accessible to a wider audience," said Heidi Baumgartner, North Pacific Union communicator director and Gleaner editor. "By offering site translations, we hope to connect more deeply with our entire Northwest family as we share stories and inspiration across cultures."

On both desktop and mobile, language options can be found in the bottom left corner of the screen. Simply select your preferred language from the menu to view the site in that language.

This translation service is powered by GTranslate, a tool that helps make Gleaner stories accessible across language barriers by instantly converting website content into a variety of languages.

"Automated translation tools have limitations," Baumgartner acknowledged. "It may not always perfectly capture the nuances of Adventist vocabulary or the depth of theological concepts. Still, it offers a close approximation to help readers engage with our stories in their heart language."

Additional languages may be requested by emailing the editors.

The Gleaner is a gathering place with news and inspiration for Seventh-day Adventist members and friends throughout the northwestern United States. It is an important communication channel for the North Pacific Union Conference — the regional church support headquarters for Adventist ministry throughout Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington. The original printed Gleaner was first published in 1906, and has since expanded to a full magazine with a monthly circulation of more than 40,000. Through its extended online and social media presence, the Gleaner also provides valuable content and connections for interested individuals around the world.
